La primavera nos trajo una tendencia de esas que a veces no se comprende muy bien y que parece que no van a tener mucho éxito: los ear cuff. Pues bien, ya estamos en verano y esta tendencia sigue con nosotros; es más, comienza a verse en la sección de complementos de las tiendas que solemos frecuentar y es que los pendientes...¡ya no se llevan a pares!

Spring came with a tendency which sometimes is not really well understood and successful: the ear cuff. Well, it's summer and this trend is with us again! In fact it is beginning at the accessories section of the stores... Guys, nowadays earrings are not just a pair!
 

Un ear cuff (pendiente brazalete) es un pendiente que cubre toda la oreja gracias a adornos de todo tipo que en algunas ocasiones se alargan hasta el pelo. ¿Te parecen algo nuevo? ¡Pues nada más lejos de la realidad! Aunque lo parezca, en realidad solo estaba "congelado" puesto que este tipo de pendientes fueron muy famosos en los años 30 cuando el joyero francés Marcel Boucher empezó a adornar con ellos las orejas de la aristocracia a la que le encantaban los excesos. Durante los 80 y el momento álgido del punk, estos "pendientes brazalete" eran un must pero desaparecieron con el estilo de la época. Tras esto, los ear cuffs quedaron relegados a looks indios y tailandeses donde los adornos son una extensión de su cultura.

 

Que es una tendencia bastante atrevida y arriesgada es algo evidente, pero si aprovechas un día que lleves el pelo recogido y te la pones solo en una de las dos orejas te aseguramos que te engancharás a llevarla y acabará siendo tu must de este verano. ¿Te atreves? ;)

Although it may seem, actually it was just "frozen" since this type of earrings were very famous in the 30s, when the French jeweler Marcel Boucher started with them adorning the ears of the aristocrazy. During the 80s and punk style, these earrings were a "must",  but disappeared with the style of the time. Then, the ear cuffs were relegated to Indian and Thai like an extension of their culture.

It's a bold and risky trend, but if you take advantage of a day that you take your hair up and you wear it only in one ear, we assure you that you will hang onto it and it'll be one of your "must" for this summer. Do you dare?;)
